In Special Lab Service at Main Campus Children's of Alabama

Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift shift, Mon-Fri.

Summary:
Responsible for planning and organizing the operational aspects of a specified section of the laboratory. Responsible for selecting, hiring, training, and counseling personnel in that section of the laboratory. Responsible for recommending capital equipment and policies for respective areas and maintaining adherence to policies and procedures for the laboratory. Responsible for employees in respective section, and for overseeing the flow of processes specific to the section.

Other information:
Clinical knowledge in test requirements and preanalytical conditions required.
Knowledgeable in Quality Processes/ Able to establish and maintain adequate controls or audit to ensure quality.
Ability to develop and mentor new employees and ensure superior customer service.
Exhibits superior customer service skills in all professional relationships.
Knowledge in collection of ECGs and Sweat Chloride Collections.
Able to maintain competencies for self and employees in all areas including performance of waived testing as approved by Medical Director.
Able to meet all accrediting requirements for all tasks and testing performed in this section of the laboratory.

Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications:

Nonessential:
* Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist or Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist - AMT

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Masters Degree in Biological Sciences or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
    - Bachelors of Science or Arts in Biological Sciences and 6 Years Staff Level

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* 4 Years job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Laboratory Services
Nonessential:
* 1 Year job experience as Supervisor Level with specialization in the field of Laboratory Services
