Clinical Counselor
Main Campus Children's of Alabama Day shift Chips Clinic Req #: chsys-34237-34364 Location Birmingham, Alabama Schedule Full-time- Job Summary
- Provides individual and /or group counseling for children who have experienced child abuse and their families. These services include intake, prevention, intervention and support, referrals, follow-up and documentation of treatment, court testimony, and multidisciplinary coordination of services for CHIPS patients. Participate in the development of training materials for the clinic, in-service programs and presentations.
- Education
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or Child Development
- Experience
- Two years- experience with child abuse preferred. This can include graduate internship or field placement.
- Knowledge of counseling theories, principles, ethics, methods and practices; trained and experienced in providing individual and/or group counseling.
- Good interpersonal skills; ability to work independently but seek and accept supervision and consultation as needed.
- Previous Play Therapy a plus
- Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
- ALC, LPC, LICSW AL State licensure
Location: Children's of Alabama · Chips Clinic
Schedule: Full-time, Day shift, 8:30am-5:00pm
