Work schedule will be Full-time on the Evening Shift, M-F; On call.
Summary:
The Supervisor for Emergency Department Patient Access oversees the daily operations and staff of the Emergency Department (ED) Patient Access team at Children’s of Alabama. This role is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient registration of all emergency department patients, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, and providing excellent customer service to patients and their families in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
Other information:
Experience/knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology. Preference knowledge/experience with Epic system, including at least one year of posting cash, credit, or check payments through Epic. Experience with patient registration applications is also preferred. Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently are essential.

Children’s of Alabama Level I Trauma Center and Emergency Department on the Main Downtown Campus. Responsible for performing multiple customer-focused emergency department registration workflows, co-pay collection, , account verification and updates. Responsible for working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical setting. Must be flexible and willing to work in different physical locations and roles as needed to meet customer needs.
Schedule: M-F; On call, Evening Shift, 8-Hour Shifts
