Work schedule will be Part-time Benefits Ineligible on the Day Shift, 7:30 am -4:00 pm; Rotating days Monday- Friday.

Summary:
The Specialty Care Services Specialty Clinic Nurse is a professional nurse who assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for patients and families in an outpatient specialty care clinic setting.

Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
    - Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
    - Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State
* Basic Life Support

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Bachelor of Science Nursing in Nursing or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
    - Associate of Science Nursing in Nursing and 1 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Nursing Outpatient

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:

Nonessential:
* 1 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Nursing Outpatient

Children's of Alabama has two Infusion Clinics dedicated to “Non- Hematology/Oncology Infusions”. The Infusion Clinic provides intermittent intravenous (IV) medications during scheduled appointments as prescribed by the patient’s physician for treatment of varying disease/conditions. These medications can take as little as two minutes or as long as eight hours to infuse. The clinic is open Monday- Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm and is staffed by RN's and CA's. There are over 30 medications in which staff are currently trained to infuse, with new treatments emerging often. The most frequently infused drugs are IVIG, Remicade and Rituxan.
