Appropriately schedules imaging exams per a physician’s order into the EPIC scheduling system according to the most appropriate level of care and imaging modality for Benjamin Russell, McWane and Children’s South locations.

Other information:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Graduate of approved medical terminology course
• Associate of Science degree preferred

• One year hospital computer experience
• One year experience scheduling imaging examinations preferred

MRI is an imaging test that uses a magnetic field and pulses of radio wave energy to make pictures of organs and structures inside the body. The MRI team at Children’s of Alabama is where cutting-edge technology meets compassionate care. As a vital part of our imaging department, you’ll work with advanced 3T MRI systems and on a 1.5T system to perform critical diagnostic scans that guide pediatric patient care. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team of technologists, nurses and Physicians ensuring the highest quality imaging while providing a calm and comfortable experience for children and their families. The MRI team uses a few methods to ensure quality images. We work closely with the Anesthesia department, child life specialists and can play age-appropriate movies to distract the patient during the exam.
