Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift, M-F 7:00 - 3:30.

Summary:
Responsible for providing professional pharmaceutical care to the patients and the community served by The Children's Hospital of Alabama in accordance with established policy, procedures, and laws of state and federal government.

Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Alabama Controlled Substances Registration
Nonessential:
* Pharmacy Parenteral Certification
* Licensed Pharmacist

The Pharmacy Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide excellent pharmaceutical care to Children’s of Alabama Patients. Services include, compounding of sterile and non-sterile medication, pharmacokinetics, medication order verification, OR preference bags, hazardous medication dispensing and compounding, clinical pharmacy services, unit-dosing of medication, automatic dispensing machines (Pyxis), investigational study pharmacy, medication delivery and more. The pharmacy operates out of a central pharmacy located in the Benjamin Russell building. Decentralized services are provided by clinical pharmacists on the units and several pharmacy satellites (main campus OR, Children’s South, hematology/oncology clinic, Investigational Pharmacy). The pharmacy utilizes Epic, Epic Willow Inventory, bar code scanning, vertical carousels, and kit management software.
