Work schedule will be full-time on the day shift.
Summary:
Responsible for providing project management and operational support for U.S. News & World Report Best Children's Hospitals rankings. Manages project timelines, deliverables, cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and performance metrics to ensure the successful completion and submission of the annual U.S. News & World Report survey.
Collaborates with the Pediatric Office for Improvement Science (POISE) to monitor, analyze, and communicate U.S. News performance results, identify opportunities for improvement, and connect divisions with expertise and resources to advance improvement initiatives and achieve desired outcomes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and facilitates implementation in clinical improvement initiatives within medical divisions.
- Develops process improvement plans with medical divisions throughout the organization to analyze, monitor and ensure high levels of quality and performance. Identifies opportunities for improvement, makes recommendations for change, and leads the implementation of best practices to meet established goals.
- Promotes cross-departmental communication, collaboration, and performance improvement as a means of achieving cost-effective, high-quality care.
- Coordinates, facilitates and implements best practice strategies for assigned patient populations to meet quality goals.
- Designs and documents assigned projects to demonstrate the quality levels delivered to patients, while applying model for improvement approach to quality.
- Collaborates with Clinical Data Analysts and Business Intelligence Development to analyze and display clinical data using measurement tools and systems, as appropriate.
- Interprets and communicates results in a way that the customer understands. Meet individually with providers and staff to assist with problem-solving, recommend and facilitate improvement strategies. Measures and evaluates attainment of goals.
- Manages multidisciplinary quality improvement teams and projects to support the accomplishment of improvement clinical outcome goals.
- Serves as an educator, communicator, and resource to physicians, providers and staff to understand quality and clinical outcomes objectives. Develops educational programs regarding quality initiatives and strategic objectives. Collaborates with clinical education, physicians, providers and staff to review, design, and coordinate the use of education materials.
- Drives collaboration to improve Electronic Health Record tools to support Quality in collaboration with key functional departments and leadership.
- Ensures all key stakeholders receive consistent communication across service lines.
- Shares successful process improvement and care management practices.
- Facilitates obtaining benchmarking and comparative data for use in Quality Improvement activities.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in providing quality program support to all levels of the organization in an organized, timely, accurate, efficient and appropriate manner.
- Presents data and conclusions to various levels of customers.
- Serves on Quality Improvement Teams as requested or as assigned.
- Complete assigned projects.
- Attend regularly scheduled webinars and learning opportunities related to applicable databases, quality improvement processes and professional development.
- Aggregates and prepares internal hospital data for submission to external databases for benchmarking purposes.
- Coach teams to pilot, monitor, implement action plans, and establish follow up activities for successful change leading to improved workflow and patient safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Other information:
Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, report writing, statistical analysis and data display, benchmarking & research.
Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) charts and other quality tools (pareto charts, run charts, flow diagrams, scatter plots) preferred.
Knowledge of current concepts in quality improvement methodologies, failure mode and effects analysis, human factors analysis.
Gather data and perform analysis.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical informatics.
Problem solves creatively.
Analyze processes and systems.
Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree required
* Masters Degree in Project Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or Healthcare Quality and Safety or related required.
Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
* 3 years' experience or certification in Project Management required, healthcare experience preferred
* 2 years' experience in healthcare data management and/or quality improvement preferred
Licensures, Certifications, and/or registries:
*Project Management
