In MedSurg 10 Quarterback at Main Campus Quarterback Tower

Work schedule will be Full-time on the Evening Night Shift, Varied / 36 hours per week / 7p-7a.

Summary:
Works under the supervision of RNs and LPNs to provide assistive care and communication for patients, team members, professional, and technical staff, and visitors.

Other information:

  • Candidate must have at least one of the following:
    • Six months of patient care experience within the last two years.
    • Enrolled in a medical related college program and in clinical rotation.
    • CNA,CMA, PCT or EMT certification.

Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Basic Life Support

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* High School Diploma Graduate or Equivalent

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:

Nonessential:
* 1 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Patient Care Support or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
    - Certified Nursing Assistant
    - Certified Medical Assistant AAMA
    - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
    - Certified Medical Assistant ARMA
    - Certified Patient Care Technician
    - Certified Emergency Medical Technician ADPH

10 Quarterback is a 24-bed intermediate care unit specializing in the delivery of comprehensive pulmonary care to patients in both the acute and chronic phase of their illness.  All 24 beds have capabilities to provide intensive monitoring for patients not requiring an intensive care unit. The ages of patients range from neonatal intensive overflow patients to young adults. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:2-4, depending on patient acuity. Care is provided with a multidisciplinary team approach including families, medical staff, nursing staff, respiratory staff, pastors, nurse practitioners, occupational/physical therapists, child life specialists, nutritionists, pharmacists, and social workers.   The patient population most cared for on 10QB include: Trach &/or Chronic Technology- dependent (Ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP), Acute and chronic pulmonary diseases, infections, and viruses, Neuromuscular Disorders, Neonates with Congenital Anomalies and Cystic Fibrosis.
