Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, variable 24 hours per week.
Summary:
The Advanced Nurse Clinician is a professional registered nurse who is an expert in the care of a defined patient population within a specialty clinic or subspecialty area. The clinician assumes a leadership role and supervisory responsibilities in the development, organization, and implementation of care and services for this patient population. The role integrates direct patient care, education, consultation, and research/quality improvement to support high-quality, patient- and family-centered care across Specialty Care Services.
Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
- Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
- Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State
* Basic Life Support
Nonessential:
* Basic Life Support Instructor
* Certified Pediatric Nurse or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
- Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse
- Certified Registered Nurse of Infusion
- Certified Registered Rehabilitation Nurse
- Certified Nephrology Nurse
- Certified Nurse Operating Room
- Clinical Nurse Specialist
- Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse
- Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse
- Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse
Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Associate of Science Nursing in Nursing
Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* 2 Years job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Nursing Specialized
The Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Division at Children's of Alabama provides comprehensive multidisciplinary evaluation and management of pediatric gastrointestinal, liver and nutritional problems. These may include conditions such as liver disease, feeding disorders, eosinophilic esophagitis, functional GI disorders, intestinal rehabilitation, and inflammatory bowel disease. Academic Fellows, Residents and Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners also provide world-class, disease-specific care in this area under the supervision of the attending MD. Multidisciplinary patient-centered care is the focus of the Division. Close interaction with Pediatric Surgery, Radiology, Pathology, Anesthesiology and Nutrition services provide ample opportunity for optimizing patient care. Gastroenterology and GI Surgery continues to be named among the nation’s best children’s hospitals by U.S. News and World Report. Location: Children's of Alabama (2nd Floor, McWane Building)
